The financial crisis and economic slowdown has raised questions about how supply chains, immigration and financing for small businesses will be affected.
At least seven speakers will address those and other topics at the 2009 Virginia Economic Outlook Forum, held by the Virginia Asian Chamber of Commerce.
The event is scheduled for Dec. 2 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at SunTrust Bank in Richmond. The fee is $10 for members and $15 for nonmembers.
The forum will focus on topics such as how the financial crisis and economic downturn happened; coping strategies for job seekers, businesses and nonprofits; the economic outlook; and how the downturn affects small-business banking, supply-chain management, unemployment rates and immigration.
Scheduled speakers include Ray Owens, an economist at the Federal Reserve Bank in Richmond; Virginia Chamber of Commerce CEO Hugh Keogh; Wieyong Zhang, assistant professor of business at Virginia Commonwealth University; economist Dave Tysinger of the Virginia Employment Commission; attorney Lakshmi Challa of the Challa law firm; Brian Taylor of First Market Bank; and Adam Haller of the Richmond Association for Business Economics.
