The Martin Agency has pulled out of contention for the UPS account.
The Shockoe Slip-based ad agency has had the account for about nine years.
UPS put its global advertising and media account up for review earlier this year.
Theresa Dunn, a spokeswoman for Martin, said the agency decided to focus on other work and would no longer pursue the UPS account.
Martin created the iconic "What can Brown do for you?" tag line for the giant package shipper as well as the whiteboard commercials, featuring Martin creative director Andy Azula.
UPS media spending topped $100 million last year in the U.S. and about $200 million globally, according to AdWeek, an industry publication.
