Dominion Virginia Power seeks a 6.9 percent rate increase

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Dominion Virginia Power is asking the state for a 6.9 percent rate increase for a typical residential customer.

If the State Corporation Commission approved the company's request, typical residential customers would see their bills jump by $7.54 a month, from $108.73 to $116.27 over the next 14 months.

The company, Virginia's largest electrical utility, asked the commission to make its authorized rate of return on equity 13.5 percent on its rate base of $8.8 billion.

Dominion Virginia Power filed its rate increase request with the commission late this afternoon.
