Are you a good leader? Are you a good manager?
And how would you know?
"Fundamental sound practices of good managers and good leaders don't necessarily change from year to year," Averett University's Robert Sims said, "but there are things you as a manager or leader can do to enhance the workplace experience and strengthen your skills."
Sims and Averett business professor Mike Jernigan will talk about some good — and not so good — work principles for business managers and leaders and identify new skills for handling workplace problems at the Innsbrook Business Alliance's Lunch & Learn seminar Tuesday.
"Mike and I are going to help those attending decipher what they can do to become more effective managers and leaders," Sims said.
Sims is director of faculty services for Averett's Graduate and Professional Studies program. Jernigan is an associate professor of business administration at the university.
The program will be held at 11:30 a.m. at the Hampton Inn Richmond-West at 10800 W. Broad St., in Henrico County.
The seminar and lunch are free for the Innsbrook Business Alliance members and others working in the Innsbrook Corporate Center, and $10 for people who work outside of Innsbrook office park.
