MERGERS/EXPANSIONS
Wheat Systems Integration has expanded its business by acquiring Emory Financial Services. EFS provides unique asset funding and security management, and green purchase reward solutions in the equipment and transportation arena servicing companies, government and utilities throughout North America. With this new alliance, EFS services will enable Wheat Systems to expand a new array of asset-competitive financing and low-cost security management.
PARTNERSHIPS
Health Diagnostic Laboratory Inc. has joined the Patient-Centered Primary Care Collaborative executive committee. The PCPCC, created in late 2006, is one of the major developers and advocates of the patient-centered medical home model in America. Membership includes large national employers, major primary-care physician associations, health benefits companies, trade associations, academic centers, and health care quality-improvement associations.
Priority Corporate Housing, a corporate housing provider that services the Richmond region, has been given approval to join the ranks of GO Furnished Housing providers, a partnership of best-in-class regional providers across the U.S. In order to become a member of GO, perspective companies undergo an evaluation of their entire business to make sure it meets GO's standards.
CONTRACTS
Cushman & Wakefield/Thalhimer has been retained by C-III Asset Management for the leasing and property management of Villa Park III, an 88,960-square-foot office building at 7870 Villa Park Drive in Henrico County.
MGT Construction (MGTC) has been awarded contracts for more than 70,000 square feet of various office, retail and flex/industrial construction projects. The projects include: The Crazy Greek Restaurant at Hancock Village; TBL Networks at the Hillcrest Building: Forest City; Weinstein Properties; Virginia Poverty Law; Odell Associates Expansion; and U.S. Army/CECOM at Meadowville. They will also start construction on an additional 60,000 square feet of adaptive reuse and industrial/flex projects. The projects include Manchester Motor Works Apartments and PARI at Waterford.
AWARDS
Philip Morris USA, an Altria Company, has been given the Award for Community Partnership from Big Brothers Big Sisters. Locally, Philip Morris USA and Altria employees serve as mentors through the BBBS site-based and community-based programs, volunteer with events such as the Annual Duck Race and Start Something Breakfast, and support the mission of changing lives for the better.
HHHunt Homes has been given Gold and Silver Awards at the 60th Annual Parade of Homes award ceremony by the Home Building Association of Richmond. The event recognizes industry excellence in new home design, construction, materials and technology.
The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts has been given a Friend of Education Award from the Foreign Language Association of Virginia.
WebStrategies Inc. has been given the 2011 Outstanding Website WebAward from the Web Marketing Association for the Cabell Childress Group website.
