David G. Epstein, the George E. Allen Professor of Law at University of Richmond law school, serves as the Robert M. Zinman American Bankruptcy Institute Resident Scholar for the spring semester. He is based at the institute's Alexandria office, assisting with its educational programs and in its role as a bankruptcy source for Congress, the media and the public.

Keith Dixon was honored as Rookie of the Year during the national conference of Mr. Appliance Corp. He is owner of Mr. Appliance of Chesterfield. The award goes to the franchise owners who have been in business less than 18 months and demonstrate outstanding performance in sales and are focused on building the organization.

Susan "Suzy" Pace was awarded the Quality Professional of the Year Award at the 2011 Virginia Association of Healthcare Quality's annual education conference. This award is presented to an association member who has been nominated by peers in recognition of demonstrating the characteristics of commitment, dedication, passion and enthusiasm for improving the quality of health care.

Lakshmi Challa of the Challa Law Offices is the recipient of the John C. Kenny Pro Bono Award from the Richmond Bar Association. The award is presented to an individual who demonstrates a dedication to furthering pro bono services to the poor in the Richmond area.

Anne McDonnell was awarded the State Association Leadership Award by the Brain Injury Association of America. The award is given to executives who foster collaboration, teamwork and servant leadership. She is executive director of the Brain Injury Association of Virginia.
