A radio station on New York's Long Island is staging a promotion based on fast-falling Virginia pop star Chris Brown and his legal problems.
Station WBLI of West Babylon, N.Y., is holding a "Shred Your Ex" party tomorrow morning. Friends, supporters and fans of Rihanna, Brown's girlfriend, and those who were unlucky in love can come to the station with photos, letters or other mementos from ex-lovers to shred in a wood chipper.
Brown, 19, of Tappahannock was booked by Los Angeles authorities Sunday on a felony count of making threats and could face further charges. He is free on $50,000 bail.
Various media reports indicate the charge stems from a weekend altercation between Brown and Rihanna that left her bloody and bruised.
Rihanna, 20, whose full name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty, is cooperating with detectives, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Brown's ad for the well-known "Got Milk?" campaign was wiped off the bodybymilk.com Web site Tuesday. The move came a day after Wrigley's halted its ad campaign featuring Brown.
