ADA Gallery recently opened "Daydreaming Animals," a show of works exploring daydreams. Director John Pollard said the participants are a group of friends who make art but are not working artists.
Able Brown, a standup comedian and national park ranger living in Brooklyn, curated the show. Other participants include a music professor, a jazz musician, a sign maker and a fit model for fashion designer Marc Jacobs. Pollard called them "Boy Scout scoundrels." He added, "The connectivity besides their friendship is a sense of humor and absurd quality to their work."
The gallery is also showing "Picture Fishing" by Brian Novatny.
Friday night, the gallery hosts a free First Fridays Art Walk reception. The exhibitions run through Feb. 25 at 228 W. Broad St. Hours are 1-6 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.
