Guests donned big hats and sipped mint juleps while enjoying a spirited viewing of the Kentucky Derby during the Richmond Ballet's 16th annual Kentucky Derby Day Party.
The party May 2 at the Village at Rocketts Landing consisted of an evening of gourmet food from David Napier's White House Catering, mint juleps and dancing the night away to music provided by the bands Butter and 3rd Wave.
Proceeds from ticket sales and a raffle benefit education and outreach initiatives. The event raised $65,000 for the ballet.
Honorary Kentucky Derby Day party co-chairs were Gail Johnson and Hugh Gouldthorpe.
