The evening includes Cajun dance lessons from 6 to 7 p.m., music and dancing with the Savoys, 7 to 9 p.m., and regional cuisine.
Tickets are $20, singles; $30, couples; $40, families; and are available at westviewonthejames.org and the Trinity church office, 903 Forest Ave., from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Ann and Marc Savoy are world-renowned Cajun musicians who have been playing together since the 1970s, and later with sons Joel and Wilson, in different configurations. Among other credits, their music has been a part of the movies "Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood" and "All the King's Men."
Proceeds from the benefit will go to fund 130 needs-based camperships for children unable to afford summer camp. Camperships are also awarded based on school citizenship. Since 2005, 538 camperships have been awarded.
