If looking for a little twist in your quest for the perfect ballroom, consider a distinctive venue — scout out old nightclubs, movie theaters, city roof gardens, hip restaurants, art galleries or historic mansions.

So the hard part is over — you’ve found your honey bunny, ‘til death do you part. And now, it’s time to roll up your sleeves and start planning your wedding. Gulp.

You know what we say… location is everything! We here at Wedology 101 can’t stress it enough. Finding the right place is crucial to making your big-day dreams come true as well as the first step in defining your vision. No pressure, right?
We’ll be the first to admit that we’ve been just as seduced as you are with all of the bloggity outdoor venues, from just the right plantation with water views to rustic barns. We combed the countryside far and wide hoping to find just the right place to host this once-in- a-lifetime event.

Now don’t get us wrong: We love a vineyard just as much as the next gal. The one thing we don’t want to be is a party pooper, but we are big believers in putting all the cards on the table.

So this is the part when we mention oh-so-gently to our brides that, if it’s outdoors that her heart desires, we have to not only explore but also adore a plan A and a plan B. Afterall, mother nature has a mind of her own.

So what happens when we can’t stomach the in-case-of-a-hurricane plan? Not to worry. We are extremely fortunate in Richmond to have a multitude of fabulous venues. As you’ve heard us say before, glam is also back (hurrah!). And with that comes a throwback to the classic ballroom.

Whether it’s a grand staircase, view of the river or a contemporary vibe that you’re looking for, you’re in luck. No two ballrooms are the same, and there is truly something for every bride in our quaint small town/big city of Richmond.
Locating the right spot to host this celebration is your greatest challenge, and lucky for us, our indoor options come in all shapes, sizes and budgets. Did we mention that you may be able to knock out your hotel room block at the same time? Yes, please!

If looking for a little twist in your quest for the perfect ballroom, consider a distinctive venue — scout out old nightclubs, movie theaters, city roof gardens, hip restaurants, art galleries or historic mansions.

Another plus for the ballroom is that it can be transformed into just about any setting or theme you can imagine with the help of fabulous decor, linens and lighting. We can even create the most traditional glamorous Southern wedding that would make even Scarlett O’Hara beg for an invite.

So put away that “just in case” umbrella, grab your calendar, make those calls and start finding your wedding a home.
