The state Commission on Climate Change, in its tenth and final meeting, adopted a report today on ways the state can deal with global warming.
The report includes more than 100 recommendations, including calls to conserve energy better, rely more on nuclear power and increase protections for wild lands.
Gov. Timothy M. Kaine, who appointed the 43-member commission a year ago, thanked the panelists during a meeting in the General Assembly Building.
The final report is expected to go to Kaine next week after staff members make minor wording changes.
Kaine indicated he would act on many of the report's recommendations, but he declined to be specific, saying he wanted to see the final document first. -- Rex Springston
