A 12-year-old girl who was home alone was uninjured in a home-invasion robbery last night in Henrico County, but the three suspects stole wrapped gifts from under the family's Christmas tree.
Lt. Doug Perry said the robbery occurred shortly before 7 p.m. in the 300 block of Azalea Avenue, where the girl was sitting in her family's dining room when three armed males kicked in the kitchen door.
Perry said the three, brandishing handguns, demanded to know where the money was, and when the girl said she knew of no hidden money, the three ransacked the home, forcing her to sit in the master bedroom.
Finding no money, the subjects grabbed several gifts from under the Christmas tree near the front door before running from the home, Perry said.
A police dog tracked the robbers' scent to Richmond-Henrico Turnpike before the trail went cold, Perry said.
All three suspects were described as black males between ages 17 and 20 and between 5 feet, 10 inches and 6 feet tall. Two weighed between 160 and 180 pounds and had no facial hair, dark complexions and all black clothing. The other weighed between 120 and 140 pounds, had no facial hair, had his hair braided and was also wearing all black clothing.
