»  Comments | Post a Comment

Henrico County firefighters this morning battled a two-alarm blaze in the new West Broad Village area in Short Pump.

The fire started in the second floor of an apartment complex under construction. It took about 20 minutes to extinguish the fire, Battalion Chief Kevin Bartel said.

Initial reports were that the fire involved the new Whole Foods grocery store, but those reports were not correct.

There were no injuries and no immediate details about damage to the building, which was three-quarters complete.
