Third time a charm? Richmond board votes tonight on charter school

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Richmond will consider putting a new school in an old school building tonight, when the School Board votes a third time on the proposed Patrick Henry School of Science and Arts.

The proposed charter school would operate in the former Patrick Henry Elementary School in South Richmond's Woodland Heights neighborhood next to Forest Hill Park.

The school board tentatively approved the school last spring, but then failed to endorse a proposed contract with Patrick Henry's backers to run it.

A revised contract will come before the board tonight.
