Richmond police are gathering forensic evidence and talking to people in the East End in the slaying of a male this afternoon.
Detective Ron Brown said that shortly after 4:30 p.m., police responded to the 2100 block of East Leigh Street where they found a male shot. According to bystanders, a male had been trying to break into a woman's car and was shot by an acquaintance of the woman. The male was transported to VCU Medical Center, where he later died.
