Richmond deputy sheriff loses job

»  Comments | Post a Comment

A Richmond deputy sheriff charged with cruelty and dog fighting is out of a job.

Richmond Sheriff C.T. Woody announced the decision today despite earlier comments that he would keep David W. Robinson on staff pending the resolution of the criminal charges and a separate investigation by his office.

Robinson, of the 6400 block of Miller Road in eastern Henrico County and a six-year veteran of the Richmond Sheriff's Office, faces a June 9 hearing on multiple felony animal counts.

The charges followed an April 16 police response to reports of animal fighting on his property.
