LYNCHBURG -- Liberty University has offered a scholarship to the beauty queen who expressed her opposition to same-sex marriage during the Miss USA pageant.
School Chancellor Jerry Falwell Jr. made the offer yesterday to Carrie Prejean, who was visiting the conservative Christian school.
The reigning Miss California was at Liberty's convocation and described her encounter with judge Perez Hilton during the April 19 pageant.
She said she didn't know whether the question about same-sex marriage was planned, but she thinks Hilton had a hidden agenda.
Prejean, who's a junior at San Diego Christian College, was first runner-up in the pageant. She hasn't said whether she'll transfer to Liberty for her senior year.
