State official advocates nuclear power development

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Virginia needs to develop more nuclear power, the state's secretary of natural resources told business leaders today.

"I suggest Gov. McDonnell focus on nuclear energy," said Secretary of Natural Resources Preston Bryant.

"Virginia is rich in nuclear assets," he said, and the state is going to need them.

"Virginia imports more than half the energy Virginians use," he told the Virginia Chamber of Commerce's Conference on Economic Leadership at the Richmond Marriott hotel.
