Fight call at John Marshall High prompts police response

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Richmond police were called to John Marshall High School late this morning for reports of a large fight in the cafeteria.

At least two students were taken into custody by the first officers to arrive at the school in the 4200 block of Old Brook Road. Police said one student appeared to have a cut lip.

The call originally came in to police at 11:12 a.m. as a "riot" in the cafeteria, but one of the first officers on scene said 50-60 students in the cafeteria were not fighting but instead were "getting riled up."

Within 10 minutes of the call, officers said they had emptied the cafeteria, order had been restored and students were being returned to classrooms.
