Three members of the local rap group "Get Money Green Brothers" have been sentenced in federal court for their roles in a large cocaine-distribution operation.
Christopher "Big Get It" Woolridge, 36, Natasha "P Get It" Payne, 28, and Terry "Little Get It" Battle, 31, all of Richmond, pleaded guilty to cocaine-distribution charges in connection with a four-year drug-trafficking conspiracy.
Authorities said the group distributed more than 50 kilograms -- more than 110 pounds -- of cocaine, but it was not revealed yesterday where the cocaine was obtained.
On Monday, Chief U.S. District Judge James R. Spencer sentenced Woolridge to 241/3 years in prison and Payne to 4¼ years. Spencer sentenced Battle to nine years on Friday.
According to court documents and testimony, an investigation into members of the group revealed that Woolridge, Battle and Payne were getting large quantities of cocaine, redistributing it in the Richmond area, and using the proceeds to support their music venture.
The investigation ended in May with the arrest of Woolridge and Payne. Searches were conducted at residences used by Woolridge, Payne and Battle.
Among the items found were firearms, drug packaging materials, a hydraulic press and kilogram and half-kilogram press plates, often used for repressing cocaine into brick form after it is diluted with cutting agents.
Spencer found that Woolridge was responsible for the distribution of more than 50 kilograms of cocaine; Payne for the distribution of more than 400 grams of cocaine; and Battle for more than 3.5 kilograms. He also found that all three possessed dangerous weapons.
The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; the Richmond, Chesterfield County and Virginia Commonwealth University police departments, the Virginia State Police and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
