An 18-year-old man was shot in the abdomen this afternoon in the Mosby Court public housing complex in Richmond's East End, city police said.
Someone took the victim by private vehicle to Richmond Community Hospital, where he was then transferred to VCU Medical Center, said Richmond police spokesman James Mercante. His injuries were not considered life-threatening, Mercante said.
The incident occurred just before 2:30 p.m. in the 1500 block of Coalter Street. Police are still investigating the circumstances of the shooting.
