Richmond police say man fabricated robbery story

»  Comments | Post a Comment

A man who told authorities he was forced into a van and robbed last week in front of the Richmond Coliseum fabricated the story, police said Monday.

The man, whose identity was not released, told police that he was robbed by two people at 9:17 p.m. Friday in the 600 block of East Leigh Street. The man said he was able to escape.

Police said the incident has changed from a reported robbery to a false report investigation.
