Richmond-area faith leaders are coming together Wednesday to pray for peace in the Gaza Strip.
The event is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Bon Air Presbyterian Church, 9201 W. Huguenot Road.
Organizers include Rabbi Ben Romer of Congregation Or Ami, Imad Damaj of the Virginia Muslim Coalition for Public Affairs, and Rev. R. Charles Grant of Bon Air Presbyterian.
"In this tense time, and with the complexities of our shared but also particular religious traditions, we wish to elevate public awareness for the tragedies and bloodshed in Gaza (and throughout the Middle East)," organizers wrote in a press release about the event. "We do not presume to have answers, nor is this gathering to propose political solutions. We gather in solidarity with one another and in prayer with one another and for peace in the region."
