A man was shot and wounded late last night in Richmond's East End.
The man was taken to VCU Medical Center for treatment of a gunshot wound to the buttocks after the 11:15 p.m. shooting in the 1600 block of North 19th Street, Richmond police Capt. Dave Martin said. The man's injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, Martin said.
Martin said the man told police that he and another man were walking to a store when they were approached by a car whose occupants asked if they had drugs. When the victim and his friend said they did not, words were exchanged and several shots were fired at the two.
The car was described as a dark-colored sedan, possibly a black Nissan Altima, Martin said.
