Lt. Governor Bill Bolling will hold a Heart Health Summit today from 9 to 11 a.m. in House Room 1 of the State Capitol Building.
The event brings together heart-health experts and lawmakers to discuss the issue of heart disease in Virginia.
In attendance will be representatives from the state Health Department, VCU Health Systems, the American Heart Association, the American Lung Association and the YMCA, among others.
Ideas for improving Virginians' heart health will be generated at the summit, then forwarded for review to the General Assembly and governor's office before the 2010 legislative session.
