Richmond police are investigating a crash that left three people hospitalized with serious injuries and damaged two vehicles and a house.
The three people involved in yesterday's 4:48 p.m. crash were taken to VCU Medical Center, where two were listed in critical condition and one was listed in serious condition, Capt. Linda Samuel said.
The wreck occurred when a Lincoln Town Car that was southbound in the 700 block of Meadow Street crossed into the northbound lanes and collided with a northbound motorcycle, Samuel said.
The motorcyclist was thrown into the windshield before landing on the pavement, and the Lincoln continued across the northeast corner of the intersection at Meadow and Claiborne streets, running over a stop sign and then through a yard before crashing head-on into a house in the 800 block of Meadow, Samuel said. The brick foundation of the house was damaged, she said.
Police were investigating why the Lincoln, with a driver and a front-seat passenger, crossed into oncoming traffic.
Samuel said no charges have been filed.
