Richmond police last night were investigating a shooting of two teenagers at Gilpin Court, the second shooting incident in two days at the public-housing complex.
Investigators said they were looking into the possibility that the two incidents were connected.
Yesterday, a 13-year-old girl and an 18-year-old man each were shot in the leg shortly before 4 p.m. in the 1200 block of St. John Street.
Both were taken to VCU Medical Center with injuries described as not life-threatening.
Police gave descriptions of two people they were looking for. One was said to be a black male with braids who was wearing a white shirt with a diamond print on the front, blue jeans and black tennis shoes.
The other was a black male with close-cropped hair who was clad in a white shirt with a skull on the front, Timberland shoes and black jeans.
Cathy Walker, 45, stood with a young boy yesterday as they watched police detectives near the crime scene. She predicted there would be more bloodshed overnight.
"All them people are going to get shot in the face," said the child, 5-year-old Kamari Meredith.
Walker glanced at the boy. "I don't want him to grow up over here," she said. "He knows too much already."
On Sunday, a 16-year-old boy was shot in the back at Gilpin about 7:45 p.m., police said. The teen was uncooperative with police after the shooting, and residents near the scene said they saw nothing, authorities said.
A third shooting yesterday wounded a woman while she was inside a home in South Richmond. She was shot in the upper back about 1:40 a.m. in the 100 block of East 33rd Street after someone opened fire from outside, police said.
She was taken to VCU Medical Center with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.
