A 75-year-old woman reported missing from the 8600 block of Angelsea Drive in Henrico County nearly a week ago was found dead early this morning in a wooded ravine near her home.

Rosa Johnson's body was discovered by K-9 units as Henrico police and a search and rescue team from the state's Office of Emergency Management Services combed the area near Parham Road and Mayland Drive, said Henrico police Lt. Richard Cosby.

The cause of death is unknown pending results from the Medical Examiner's Office.

Johnson, who suffered from dementia, was reported missing by family last weekend but made contact with a relative by phone on Tuesday, Cosby said.

Her body was found just after midnight, facedown in spillway pool, Cosby said.
