Kaine promotes off-shore wind projects

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Gov. Timothy M. Kaine said today that he would like to see Virginia become home to major off-shore wind-energy projects.

Kaine's office released a letter, dated Sept. 15, to Elizabeth Birnbaum, director of the U.S. Department of the Interior's Minerals Management Service, requesting the formation of a federal-state-local task force to look into the issue.

"With the great resources in the Hampton Roads region, Virginia has the . . . potential to be the manufacturing and economic center for this burgeoning green industry," Kaine said in a statement.
