Richmond police arrested two people and are looking for a third suspect this afternoon after a bank robbery on West Broad Street and a car chase.
Police responded to a report of a robbery at M&T Bank, in the 3100 block of West Broad Street about 2:33 p.m., said police spokesman Gene Lepley.
Witnesses told police three to four men left the bank in a Nissan Maxima, which they apparently abandoned in favor of a Chevrolet Suburban, police said.
Police found the Suburban and started pursuing it down South Meadow Street, over the Downtown Expressway and into the Randolph section of the city.
The Suburban tried to make a left turn at Appomattox Street, but Lepley said it veered into the porch of a home at 1201 S. Meadow St. and then traveled about a half a block before stopping.
Officers arrested two of the three people inside; police are looking for a third suspect who ran from the vehicle. No injuries were reported, and some of the money was recovered.
