A woman and a boy were taken to a hospital for treatment after being struck with birdshot in a shooting Sunday in South Richmond.
Richmond police Capt. Scott Booth said neither victim was believed to have life-threatening injuries. The victims, who were taken to CJW Medical Center (Chippenham), both were struck in the legs, and the woman was hit in one arm as well, Booth said.
Police obtained warrants for Chazaray Moseley on seven felony charges, including malicious wounding and use of a firearm in a felony, and were searching for him yesterday.
Police said Moseley, 20, is 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs 140 pounds.
The shotgun used in the shooting was not recovered. "We obviously are considering him armed and dangerous," Booth said.
Anyone with information on Moseley can call Crime Stoppers anonymously at (804) 780-1000.
The shooting occurred about 8 p.m. in the 6500 block of Balsam Road, a short distance west of G.H. Reid Elementary School.
Booth said police believe the shooting stemmed from an earlier family altercation. The woman and boy were struck with birdshot from a single shotgun blast, Booth said.
