Richmond police say this morning that a bicyclist who collided with an SUV Monday night near Virginia Union University has died from his injuries.
Steven L. Smith, 37, of the 3300 block of North Avenue died yesterday at VCU Medical Center, police said in a news release.
Police said Smith, who was not wearing a helmet, ran a red light as he was riding north on Lombardy Street and struck the side of a Suburban driving north on Brook Road about 8:10 p.m. Monday.
No charges are expected to be filed in the case, police said.
