Richmond police responded to a shooting this morning at a motel along Midlothian Turnpike, and two suspects were being sought.
Police said they could not immediately confirm reports from the scene that the victim was dead when officers arrived at the Host Inn.
The shooting was reported at 10:44 a.m. in a guest room at the motel, which is in the 6600 block of Midlothian, just west of Carnation Street.
Police called for a canine unit as well as an airplane to help in the search for what were initially described as two suspects who ran from the motel and got in a Ford Escape, possibly dark green, greenish-blue or dark blue. The vehicle was last seen headed east on Midlothian toward Warwick Road.
The suspects were described as black males, one with plaid shorts and a light blue sweatshirt and the other with jeans and a gray sweatshirt.
