»  Comments | Post a Comment

An apartment fire prompted the brief evacuation of an assisted-living center in downtown Richmond this afternoon.

There were no injuries in the fire, which was reported at 1:38 p.m. at Tiffanie's Manor for Young Adults, an apartment building at 115 N. Jefferson St.

Richmond firefighters said all the residents had been evacuated by the time the first crews arrived.

The fire, which was quickly extinguished, was confined to the bedroom of a second-floor apartment, but there was heavy smoke throughout the second floor.
