The incoming McDonnell administration is spending some quality getting-to-know-you time today.
Gov-elect Bob McDonnell's senior staff and Cabinet secretaries -- he has yet to name the secretaries of Education and Health and Human Resources -- are meeting at Montpelier, the recently restored Orange County home of James Madison.
Newt Gingrich, former speaker of the House of Representatives, is scheduled to address the group, along with University of Virginia political science professor Larry J. Sabato.
Gingrich touts McDonnell's successes as a model for other Republican candidates, citing McDonnell's focus on jobs and offshore drilling. Gingrich also has said he's considering a run for president in 2012.
