»  Comments | Post a Comment

Richmond Mayor Dwight C. Jones announced today the appointment of Alicia Zatcoff as the city's first sustainability manager.

Zatcoff, an attorney and a LEED-accredited professional, will help develop sustainable green and eco-friendly policies and practices that support Jones' objectives for an improved quality of life, healthy environment and enhanced economic development and job creation opportunities, officials said. She previously had been working as a project manager for the city.

She will report to Deputy Chief Administrative Officer for Operations Christopher L. Beschler and will work with city agencies to reduce the use of water, electricity and gasoline, as well as to develop long-term policies to conserve resources in order to create costs savings for the city and taxpayers.
