Police say woman orchestrated East End armed robbery

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Richmond police say a woman gave the father of her children a ride as a means to set him up to be robbed at gunpoint.

Danielle McLaurin, 26, was being held on charges of robbery and possession of a firearm in a felony after her arrest for yesterday's 11:20 a.m. incident.

Capt. David L. Martin said McLaurin offered a ride to the father of her children yesterday morning and drove him to the 2400 block of M Street in the city's East End, where she stopped the car and opened the passenger door.

Martin said a man carrying a handgun and wearing a mask approached the open door and, on the orders or McLaurin, robbed the passenger. McLaurin ordered the victim out of her car and drove away, Martin said.

A short while later, 1st Precinct officers saw McLaurin with a man in the car with her, so they pulled over the vehicle.

McLaurin's passenger, Vincent Taylor Jr., 20, no address given, was charged with possession of a stolen handgun.

Martin said the gun found on Taylor did not match the one used in the robbery minutes earlier.

An investigation is continuing.
