WOODBRIDGE -- Virginia State Police say a 25-year-old Woodbridge man fired more than a dozen shots in a road rage incident on Interstate 95 in Prince William County.
After a dump truck merged onto southbound I-95 from Route 123 around 4 p.m. yesterday, police say the driver and the driver of a Jaguar engaged each other aggressively. Police say the dump truck hit the Jaguar twice and both ended up against the shoulder wall.
Police say Gabriel Poventud got out of the Jaguar and fired 13 shots, hitting the dump truck four times as it drove away. Poventud followed, but both were pulled over.
Poventud, whose 2-year-old daughter was in the Jaguar, is charged with child endangerment, attempted homicide and weapons charges. The dump truck driver, 44-year-old James Bringham of Woodbridge, is charged with reckless driving.
No injuries were reported.
