Richmond police are investigating the discovery of a body in the 1800 block of Southlawn Avenue in the Hillside Court public housing complex.
"It is very clearly not natural causes," said Richmond police Capt. Harvey Powers. Extra units were called in for crowd control and more than 150 people now surround police lines that have blocked off a section of the south Richmond complex.
"We had a couple instances where family members, very emotional, entered the crime scene without any authorization," Powers said.
No further information was immediately available.
