Richmond police are investigating a shooting that injured a man Monday night in the city's East End.

The victim was driven in a private vehicle to VCU Medical Center, where he was treated for a gunshot wound to the upper body that authorities said did not appear to be life-threatening.

Richmond police Capt. David L. Martin said officers were called to the 1900 block of North 29th Street at 9:50 p.m. after neighbors reported hearing an argument and gunfire.

Officers found evidence of gunfire at a house, but no victim. A few minutes later, the gunshot victim showed up at the hospital's emergency room.

Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers anonymously at (804) 780-1000.
