Smoke from a wildfire that has burned thousands of acres in the Great Dismal Swamp seems to have made its way back into the Richmond area today.
Richmond authorities this morning began receiving a number of calls from people reporting what smelled like fires in the city, but none could be found.
Smoke from the Great Dismal Swamp fire, which started Aug. 4 following a lightning strike, has drifted roughly 90 miles northwest to the Richmond area on a number of occasions in recent weeks.
