Area authorities and homeowners were still cleaning up downed branches and trees this morning left over from a line of storms that hit the region with high winds Wednesday evening.
As of 11:22 a.m., the company reported that of the 6,131 customers without power in the state, some 5,414 are in the Richmond metro/Tri cities area. That was down from 47,600 reported without power statewide at the height of the storms Wednesday evening.
