Henrico County police last week made quick arrests in two unrelated incidents by out-of-state suspects.
On Wednesday, five New Yorkers were arrested on multiple felony credit card and theft charges in connection with scams targeting two merchandise stores. Police recovered more than $12,000 in cash and merchandise.
All the defendants are being held without bond.
Police said the crime wave involved two stores, one in the 5400 block of West Broad Street and the other in the 9000 block of Staples Mill Road.
Authorities said the arrests followed discovery of one of the suspects smoking marijuana in a parking lot.
Arrested were Ricardo Fleurmond, 23, of St. Albans; Ebony Gray, 21, of Jamaica; and Jessica Holloway, 23, Lourdz Bartelemy, 23, and Jovon R. Jean-Simon, 22, all of Brooklyn.
In another case Thursday, two California men face multiple charges of possession and sale of 5 pounds of marijuana. Police identified the two as Raymond W. Bimson, 29, of Fortuna, and Ronald F. Holden II, 61, of Encinitas.
