Man injured in East End robbery try

A man was injured Tuesday night when he was struck in the face during an attempted robbery in Richmond's East End.

The man was taken to VCU Medical Center for treatment of a facial laceration after the robbery try, which occurred about 8:30 p.m. in the 2200 block of Venable Street, Richmond police Lt. Angela Greene said.

The victim said 3-4 males confronted him and ordered him to give them his money, and when the victim told them he didn't have any, they struck him in the face with an unknown object and ran.

The victim was unable to provide a detailed description of the suspects.
