Richmond police said they do not suspect foul play in Tuesday afternoon's death in the Fan District.
Police received a call at 4:41 p.m. reporting the shooting of a male in the 1100 block of West Avenue south of West Franklin Street and north of Park Avenue.
Authorities this morning said they were withholding the identity of the man pending notification of relatives.
An investigation was continuing, and police were waiting on information from the medical examiner's office.
