Richmond police investigate 2 armed robberies

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Richmond police are investigating armed robberies early today and late Sunday of people sitting in parked cars.

In both instances victims described the robbers as displaying a silver handgun before demanding cash, but the estimates of the ages of the robbers differed, said Capt. Paul Kiniry.

But, he added, police are investigating similarities between the crimes.

About 11:25 p.m. Sunday, a couple in a car in the 1400 block of Ashley Street in the Fulton area were robbed by two men they believed to be between 17 and 21 years old, Kiniry said. There were no injuries and no shots were fired. About an hour later on the dead end at the 2200 block of East Grace Street, a man in a car with a woman was robbed by men believed to be 21 to 25 years old. A shot was fired as the robbers fled, but no injuries were reported, police said.
