Richmond police investigate Church Hill shooting, wounding

Police are investigating an afternoon shooting in Church Hill that left the victim with life-threatening injuries.

About 3:36 p.m., police responded to the shooting in the 1400 block of Coalter Street. The victim had been shot several times and was taken to VCU Medical Center, said Richmond police Capt. David L. Martin.

Witnesses reported seeing a man wearing a black T-shirt, black pants and a black fitted cap running from the scene, Martin said. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (804) 780-1000.
