Man injured in East End shooting

Richmond police were investigating a shooting in the East End this afternoon that injured one man.

Police said they began receiving calls for reports of gunfire in the area of North 19th and Phaup streets shortly after 1:30 p.m., and officers responding to the scene found a man with a gunshot wound in the 2100 block of North 20th Street. The man had been struck in one arm, police said.

The suspect was described as a light-skinned black male who was tall and wearing a red shirt and blue jeans and was last seen running toward Mechanicsville Turnpike.
