SALEM — Interstate 81 in Botetourt County is closed because of two accidents involving tractor-trailers.
The Virginia Department of Transportation says there's a hazardous material spill from a wreck in the northbound lanes.
The other accident was in the southbound lanes. Both wrecks occurred near mile marker 167 just after 2 a.m. today.
Traffic is being detoured onto U.S. 11.
The department doesn't know when the interstate will reopen.
